what we offer
Full Time Employment
We believe all team members should be paid fairly for the efforts, and spend time focusing on client outcomes, not stressing about making rental payments to a gym.
That’s why all our team members are full time, salaried employees, with sick leave, annual leave and public holiday entitlements. Best of all, no split-shifts
No Rent to Pay
We don’t believe in the rental model run at commercial gyms. Why? Because stressing about making rental payments isn’t good for the trainer, or the client. Trainers should be focused on delivering the best possible service to their clients, and clients deserve a trainer that’s focused on helping them achieve their goals, not the other way around.
Industry Leading Pay
We want all our trainers to not only just be paid fairly, but be paid well. We will give you all the tools needed to be a successful fitness professional and help you meet the required competencies in order to level up your pay every single quarter.
Real Career Progression
At Dukes, we believe fitness is not just a job, it’s a career. That’s why we’ve mapped out a clear career progression pathway for our team. This allows them to learn the skills they need to help clients, develop and lead teams and ultimately lead facilities.

WHAT TYPE OF CLIENTS DO WE TRAIN?
We are lucky enough to train some of our communities best people (yes, we might be a little biased 😅). Our typical clients are:
- Between 16 and 68 years old – we train people of all ages
- Looking to lose weight, put on muscle and live generally healthier lives
- Investing time out of their busy schedules to better themselves
While we welcome people with all goals and ambitions, for the most part you won’t find a lot of high performance athletes, bodybuilders or aspiring social media influencers amongst the coaching client base.
Our core clients are regular, down to earth, everyday people.
That’s not to say each team member isn’t highly accomplished in their own pursuits (we have ex powerlifters, body builders, triathletes and marathon runners on the team).
But our job at Dukes is to share our personal love of fitness with clients that may need a little extra support and guidance. We focus on making sure their training blocks are results driven and they come to a gym where they feel like they belong.
We’re here to make the gym fun and put our clients at the centre of our efforts.

your questions answered.
How do I get clients?
At Dukes, coaching options are given to prospective members when they sign up so people can pick which option suits them best right from the start. Everyone that walks through the door has something they’re looking to achieve in the gym. Coaching just helps get them there quicker. We’ve found about 20% of new members opted to get help from a coach straight away, which is where the majority of clients come from.
What am I doing when I’m not training people?
When you’re not training clients you’re working towards building your books, up-skilling to get better at your craft and helping with gym operations.
How long does it take before team members are confidently delivering sessions?
To go from brand new, having never trained clients before to delivering sessions confidently it takes about 6 months. You learn the basics pretty quickly (usually within 4-6 weeks) but it takes some time and repetition to really be comfortable in the role and deliver sessions seamlessly.
Quarterly team activities
It’s important to celebrate the wins. That’s why every quarter we host events and activities outside the gym so we can have some fun, bond as a team and take some time to reflect on all we’ve achieved over the last few months.
