If you’re new to the gym, our trainers will start you off on the right foot by teaching you proper form and technique. We also have a dedicated Women’s Only Gym space, which offers a friendly, empowering environment where you can focus on your goals and feel comfortable. It’s fully equipped, private and run by coaches who genuinely understand what works for women and how to help you feel confident every step of the way.

How will my trainer know what program and exercises are right for me?
During your first session with your trainer you’ll go through your exercise history (including goals, past training experience and any injuries) and then a strength testing and movement screen.
Strength testing gives us a clear understanding of your current physical capabilities, such as how much you can lift safely and efficiently. It also helps us identify muscle imbalances or areas that need strengthening. Movement screening, on the other hand, is all about how your body moves. We assess your mobility, flexibility, posture and stability across key movement patterns. This lets us spot any movement limitations or areas that need improvement so we can help prevent injuries and build a solid foundation.
Based on how you move and where you're starting from, we’ll create a program that supports your goals and gets you real, sustainable results.
What qualifications do your trainers have?
All of our trainers who coach at our personal training gyms have at least a Cert III & IV in Fitness, but we also all have individual sporting and athletic backgrounds. We can help you with everything from basic weight loss and muscle tone, to building muscle, breaking through plateaus and even training for marathons, triathlons, bodybuilding and powerlifting competitions. Why? Because we’ve done it before and can share our first hand experience.
What kind of goals can your team help me achieve?
We have a diverse and passionate team of trainers and coaches. The most common goal people train for is basic weight loss and muscle tone. We can also help with building muscle, breaking through plateaus and even training for marathons, triathlons, bodybuilding and powerlifting competitions.
How do you come up with a training program for me?
After completing a thorough exercise history (including goals in the gym, previous training experience and injuries), we do a movement screen and strength testing session on the gym floor. This allows us to see how you move and come up with a tailored training block to put your goals into an actionable plan.
What’s a training block?
A training block is a period of time (we generally do eight-week blocks) where you’re honing in on the same workouts and movements. By having consistency in workouts, it allows us to focus on progressive overload, form and technique. It also keeps both you and your trainer accountable and lets us measure your progress.
Will you be able to help me with my nutrition?
Yes! Our team has both professional and first-hand experience with nutrition and we will be able to help you get on the right track. We believe that training and nutrition go hand in hand. What you do in the gym is just one part of the equation. How you fuel your body plays a massive role in your energy levels, recovery, body composition and overall results.
Whether your goal is weight loss, muscle gain or improved performance, a solid nutrition plan will fast-track your progress and help you maintain it long-term. We offer practical advice tailored to your lifestyle, preferences and goals — no crash diets or crazy fads, just fundamentals that work.

How often do I need to see a personal trainer in order to see results?
This will vary from person to person and their individual starting points. If you’re brand new to the gym/personal training, even just one session per week will have you seeing better results than just coming in and trying to work everything out yourself.
What do I do on the days I’m not seeing my trainer?
Your trainer will put together a program for you that you’ll be able to follow on the days you’re not training with them. This means you’ll always have a plan when you’re coming to the gym and you’ll always know exactly what you’re meant to be doing and when.
What times are your trainers available?
We have trainers on from 12pm till 8pm Monday to Friday
How do we make sure training is safe and injuries are avoided?
The best tool we have to avoid injury is the initial movement screen and exercise history session we do on day one. Part of your trainer's job is to encourage and challenge you. We also know what exercises we can push you on and which ones we need to pay more attention to form and technique.
In addition, Dukes Gym is fitted with high-quality, commercial-grade equipment that’s regularly maintained and easy to adjust. With us, you’ll always be training in a safe, supportive environment.
While we can’t eliminate injuries, we can make sure you’re lifting in the safest manner possible, to minimise any potential niggles or injuries.
How much does personal training cost?
$64.95 per session
Are there any lock in contracts or minimum terms?
No. We bill fortnight to fortnight in advance. If you want to change your membership let us know and we can switch it over from the next billing cycle.
Should I wait till I’m back in a routine and training regularly before coming in to see a trainer?
No — that’s like waiting until you feel better before going to the doctor. Clients see us to help improve their fitness and results in the gym. If you’re just getting back to the gym or you're brand new to the gym it’s actually the best time to see us. Not only can we help you with motivation and accountability, we can make sure that you’re on the right track from day one
